INDIANAPOLIS - David Koponen has been named Horizon League Men's Runner of the Week, announced the league office on Tuesday. After a solid weekend at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio, the junior earned the honor.

At the Jesse Owens Classic, Koponen turned in the fastest time in the league in the 800-meter run so far this season. His time of 1:53.75 placed him eighth place out of 41 runners at the meet. His time ranks third in Oakland school history.

Oakland next competes at the Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale College April 24-26.
