ROCHESTER, Mich.- The Oakland women's soccer team (6-10-2, 4-3-1) enters the 2014 Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship as the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 seed Cleveland State (8-8-2, 3-4-1) in a quarterfinal match on Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Oakland Soccer Field. The game will be broadcast live on the Horizon League Network with the voice of the Golden Grizzlies Neal Ruhl on the call. Oakland defeated CSU 2-1 back on Oct. 25 and leads the all-time series 2-0.



The first 100 students will receive a free gray Oakland Wear The Bear T-shirt. Students can also sign up for the free iPad give-a-way contest to be held at halftime.



The Golden Grizzlies have won eight Division I league tournament titles with the last coming in 2012.



In last season's HL Tournament, No. 3 seed Oakland defeated No. 6 seed Youngstown State 6-2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Oakland played No. 2 seed Wright State to a 0-0 double overtime draw and advanced to the championship game 4-3 on penalty kicks. In the championship game, Oakland lost a heartbreaking match to No. 1 seed Milwaukee, 4-3.



Cleveland State finished in fifth place during the regular season in the conference standings. The Vikings are led by junior forward Vickie Havas and senior forward Amanda Sivic who have a team-high 10 points each and nine combined goals. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Wood ranks third in the league in shutouts (5) and fourth in goals against average (.96) and saves (69).
