Horizon League Championship Central
ROCHESTER, Mich. - After finishing undefeated in Horizon League play, the Oakland men's soccer team won the regular-season title and will host the Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship, Nov. 13 and 15 at the Oakland Soccer Field.
The semifinals will be Thursday, Nov. 13 with the No. 1 seed Golden Grizzlies facing the lowest remaining quarterfinal seed at 7 p.m., while the No. 2 seed University of Detroit Mercy will take on the highest remaining quarterfinal team at 4:30 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. with the winner earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
The quarterfinals of the Horizon League Championship begins on Monday with a pair of quarterfinal matchups with No. 6 Milwaukee at No. 3 Wright State and No. 4 Cleveland State hosting No. 5 Valparaiso. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen on the Horizon League Network.
Oakland captured its first regular-season crown since 2012 with a 5-0-3, marking the first undefeated league season since 2009. The Golden Grizzlies placed five players on the All-Horizon League first and second teams, with head coach Eric Pogue being named the coach of the year.
