ROCHESTER, Mich. - Kyla Kellermann scored just 39 seconds into the match sparking Oakland (6-10-2, 4-3-1) to a 3-0 shutout win over visiting Wright State (6-10-1, 3-4-1) on a windy and snowy Senior Night at the Oakland Soccer Field. Fellow senior Jenna Taylor scored her second goal of the season within a minute of subbing into the game. Alice Palmer also recorded her third goal over the last two games. The Golden Grizzlies will host Cleveland State in a Horizon League Tournament quarterfinal match on Monday, Nov. 3 at 7p.m.

"We started off really well and that goal within the first minute really put the pressure on Wright State and set us up nicely to win the game," said head coach Margaret Saurin. "I thought our girls did a good job of controlling the game, keeping possession and creating chances. We came into the season with seven solid seniors and they were people that we said from day one wanted to take a leadership role on the team. They obviously did that tonight scoring two goals and turned in a great performance from all of them on the pitch."

Alison Holland picked up her fourth shutout on the year helping the team close out the regular season undefeated at home in conference play.

Kellermann controlled the opening kick and moved the ball quickly down the right side. With the cold hard wind blowing in her face, she fired a shot from just outside the box that floated past WSU goalkeeper Halle Pyle for the eventual game-winner.

In the 63rd minute of the second half, Palmer sent a corner kick into the wind which carried the ball through a crowd of players in front of the net and found its way past Pyle giving Oakland a 2-0 lead.

Taylor entered the game in the 78th minute and immediately got the ball in position inside the box and connected on a shot to the lower left corner from eight yards out.
