Green Bay Box Score
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Cassie Pelloni led the Oakland volleyball team in kills for the second straight outing, but her 16 kills were not enough as the Golden Grizzlies dropped a four-set decision to Green Bay Friday evening, 25-22, 22-25, 25-10, 25-23. The loss drops Oakland to 12-9 overall and 4-2 in Horizon League action, while Green Bay improves to 3-14, 1-5.
"This was a disappointing performance and outcome for us," Oakland head coach Rob Beam said. "Green Bay played well and deserved the victory; they were much more consistent in their offensive execution. We need to play with a greater sense of urgency in order to compete in a league of this caliber."
Sammy Condon added 11 kills while Melissa Deatsch tallied 10 kills of her own for Oakland. As a team, the Golden Grizzlies hit just .131 in four sets to Green Bay's .237 attack percentage.
Amanda Baker had five blocks while Pelloni was part of three Oakland blocks. Ciara Schultz had 44 of the team's 50 assists.
The Golden Grizzlies head to Milwaukee to face the Panthers Saturday, Oct. 18 for a 4 p.m. CT contest.
