CLEVELAND STATE USES LATE RUN TO DEFEAT OAKLAND, 86-76

CLEVELAND (AP) - Corey Petros had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Tommie McCune scored 23 points, but it wasn't enough for Oakland on Thursday night, as Cleveland State scored on its final six possessions to prevail, 86-76.

Trey Lewis scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Vikings. Petros went over 1,000 points in his career and recorded his league-best seventh double-double of the season.

Cleveland State (11-8, 3-2 Horizon League) opened a 12-0 run and took the lead for good at 76-73 on Jon Harris' 3-pointer with 2:34 left in the game. Harris capped the same run with a dunk to put the Vikings up 85-73 with 24 seconds left.

Harris had 16 points and seven rebounds, Bryn Forbes added 15 points and Charlie Lee scored 11.

Oakland (7-13, 2-3) seemed to have control of the game with a 15-2 run to go ahead 67-59 with 7:49 left. Cleveland State answered with an 11-2 run to go back in front 70-69 less than 3 minutes later. The Vikings closed with a 13-3 run over the final 3:04 of the game.
