HIGHLAND, Mich. - Evan Bowser battled the conditions and shot a 1-under-par 71 to capture the individual title and lead Oakland at the Detroit Titans Invitational on Saturday at Prestwick Village Golf Club. Bowser finished the tournament with a career-best score of 212 (-4) to win by two shots.

"Evan arrived here a special talent, but I think he has gotten better," said OU coach Russ Cunningham. "Evan is maturing as a golfer and he worked out on his own over the winter which I believe helped him to be mentally and physically stronger in these extreme conditions."

The Golden Grizzlies ended in fifth place with an overall score of 908 (+44). Tournament host Detroit took home the team title with a total score of 872 (+8).

Also posting a top-15 finish for the Grizzlies was Mark Foster. The junior shot a final round 75 to tally a tie for 15th-place finish with an overall score of 224 (+8). This is the second straight week Bowser and Foster tallied top-15 finishes for the Golden Grizzlies.

Bowser is the first OU player to win multiple tournaments in the same season since Jon Pauli and current PGA Tour player Brian Stuard each won a pair of tournaments in 2005. Oakland will compete in The Summit League Championship, April 22-24, in Keller, Texas.
