BOSTON - Oakland's Travis Bader was named to the Lou Henson All-America team, announced by CollegeInsider.com on Monday. The 25-member team recognizes the top mid-major players in the country.
Bader, a native of Okemos, Mich., led the country with a school and Summit League record 139 3-pointers this season. He currently ranks fifth in the nation in scoring average, finishing the season at 22.1 per game. Bader is a first time Mid-Major All-American, earning Freshman All-America honors in 2010.
An All-Summit League first team selection, Bader broke the all-time school record with 357 treys made, third-best in league history. He is just 100 threes shy of former Duke standout J.J. Redick's NCAA record 457.
Bader graduated from Oakland in three years and is currently working on his master's degree in communications. The Lou Henson Award, given to the nation's top mid-major player, will be presented in Atlanta at the Final Four.
