ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Elena Popkey led all players with a career-high 23 points, as Oakland (9-17, 3-11) lost, 87-71, to Fort Wayne (12-14, 8-6) at the Athletics Center O'rena on Saturday. Olivia Nash grabbed her Summit League-leading eighth double-double of the season for the Golden Grizzlies.

"I thought that IPFW had a really hot shooting night," said Oakland head coach Beckie Francis. "They took 22 3s and made 10 of them. Usually when a team shoots 46 percent from the three it's going to be a long night."

Popkey scored 11 points and was perfect from the field in the first half, including three 3-pointers. She gave Oakland an early 6-5 advantage, but Fort Wayne hit seven 3s in the opening half and led 43-31 at the intermission.

The Golden Grizzlies shot 42.1 percent from the field and were 7-for-17 from beyond the three-point arc. Amy Carlton knocked down two triples and equaled her career-best by scoring 12 points, shooting 4-for-4 from the field.

Nash finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The freshman is now in a tie for the league lead in double-digit rebound games and holds the lead for double-doubles outright.

The Mastodons shot 49.1 percent from the field and had four players reach double-digits. Rachel Mauk hit a career-high five 3s to finish with a career-high 22 points. The leading scorer in The Summit League, Amanda Hyde, went 11 of 11 at the free-throw line and finished with 22 points.

Haley Seibert knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points and a game-high five assists. Erin Murphy was 6 of 6 at the line and scored 14 points,as IPFW went 23 of 24 at the charity stripe.

Elizabeth Hamlet scored eight points had four steals. The Oakland bench outscored the Fort Wayne bench 26-10.

It was the final home game of the season for Oakland, which has no seniors this season. The game was a Play4Kay game, in which the OU players and staff wore pink to support for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for women's cancer research.

The Golden Grizzlies return to action on Thursday with a road game against IUPUI at 5 p.m.
