ROCHESTER, Mich. - Travis Bader scored a game-high 27 points and Duke Mondy dished out a career-high nine assists to lead Oakland (1-0) to a 96-62 victory over Albion (0-1) in the home opener for men's basketball on Friday inside the Athletics Center O'rena. Bader has scored 20 or more points in 15 consecutive games, dating back to last season.

"I'm pleased with the way we played tonight," said OU coach Greg Kampe, who is just nine wins shy of 500. "Joey Asbury gave us some good minutes (in the first half) and I thought we wore them down with our size and strength."

Drew Valentine finished with 13 points, Ryan Bass with 12 and Corey Petros was the final OU player in double figures with 12 points. Joey Asbury finished with a career-high six points, while Bass matched his career-best with four steals. Ten of the 12 players for the Golden Grizzlies scored in the game.

Oakland shot 55 percent (32-58) for the game and 50 percent (9-18) from beyond the arc. Lawrence Ridgell and Adam Zavadil each reached double figures for the Britons. Ridgell posted 15 points and Zavadil finished with 14.

The Golden Grizzlies led for the entire game, taking their largest lead of 35 points with 7:18 left in the game. OU led by 20 at halftime, 50-30.

Oakland will begin a seven-game road trip at Louisiana on Sunday. Game time is set for 5 p.m. ET inside the Cajun Dome and will air on OU's flagship station WDFN-AM (1130) with Mario Impemba (play-by-play) and Neal Ruhl (color) on the call.
