LEMONT, Ill. - Cameron Nelson shot a final round, even-par 72 to lead Oakland to an eighth place finish at the John Dallio Memorial hosted by DePaul on Sunday. The Golden Grizzlies shot a team score of 299 on the day, finishing with a total of 920 (+56) for the weekend at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.
Individually, Nelson finished in a tie for fifth (225/+9), while Evan Bowser shot 76 to finish tied for ninth (226/+10).
"The final round was more in line with what we are looking for. Although we took a step back as a team, we did have a great round out of Cameron today, and another top-10 out of Evan," said head coach Russ Cunningham. "Hopefully, we will be prepared and motivated for our next event. I expect improved focus and discipline by using better course management."
Nick Cunningham finished tied for 31st (233/+17), while Mark Foster wrapped up play tied for 50th (238/+22). Alex Turner rounded out Oakland's effort finishing tied for 68th (244/+28).
The Black and Gold travel to Dayton on October 22 for the UD Invitational, their final event of the fall season.
