ROCHESTER, Mich. - Kyla Kellermann scored her third goal of the season as the Oakland University women's soccer team (2-6-0) fell in double-overtime to Butler (5-4-0), 3-2, on Friday night at the OU Soccer Field. The Golden Grizzlies dropped to 2-3 at home this season.

"We played well in the first half and beginning of the second half," said head coach Nick O'Shea. "Butler fought hard to get back in the game and converted some set pieces that kept them in the game."

Serena San Cartier opened the scoring for the Golden Grizzlies in the 32nd minute as she received a through ball from Amy Trandell. Trandell played a probing ball in behind the Butler defense and San Cartier out-paced the Butler goalkeeper Julie Burton before slotting the ball into the side-netting giving OU the 1-0 lead.

OU struck early in the second half as Kellermann found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. The freshman received a pass from Julianne Boyle and fired a shot from just outside the 18-yard box that was too strong for the Butler keeper putting Oakland in front 2-0.

Butler would not go away quietly as they continued to attack and create scoring opportunities. In the 64th minute the Bulldogs cut the lead in half by way of an Oakland own goal from a redirection off of a Butler corner kick. Jackie Hafele tallied the equalizer for the Bulldogs in the 77th minute when she converted a header off of a Stephanie Kaylor corner kick. It was Hafele's second goal and seventh point of the season.

Claire Milam scored the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs in the second overtime period off of a through ball from Elise Kotsakis. The game-winning goal came on Milam's second shot of the season.

BU outshot OU 12-9 in the second half forcing four corner kicks that led to two goals. Berschbach finished with six saves as her record dropped to 1-1 and Burton recorded five saves as she improved to 2-1 on the season.

Oakland gets back to action when they travel to down the road to take on Detroit Thursday Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. on Titan Field.
