"I'm fairly pleased with the way we played this weekend" said OU coach Brian Costello. "It's always tough to play in tournaments when you start, stop and start up again due to weather delays. I thought we did a nice job with that and we picked up some big wins against some pretty good competition."
The Golden Grizzlies climbed four spots in the standings in the second round with a score of 289 (+5) and improved one spot in the final round with a score of 293 (+9). Indiana captured the tournament title with an even-par score of 852, 15 shots ahead of runner-up Cleveland State (867).
Senior Michael Marks matched his career-best in the second round with a 3-under-par 68 (224/T41), while Ziegler finished in a tie for 18th place with an overall score of 218 (+5). Freshman Trevor Rosekrans had his best tournament for OU with a tie for 29th-place finish with an overall score of 222 (+9).
Ball State's Tyler Merkel claimed medalist honors with final rounds of 68 and 70 to post an overall score of 209 (-4), finishing one shot ahead of Indiana's David Erdy and Cleveland State's Kent Monas. Four players finished in a tie for fourth place at 212.
