Notes KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Keith Benson's 18th double-double of the season led Summit League champion Oakland to a 103-90 victory over UMKC on Thursday night.
"I thought they (UMKC) had a heck of a game plan and played really well, despite being short handed," said OU coach Greg Kampe who won his 125th league game tonight. "To win 16 games in league play for the second straight year is quite an accomplishment."
Benson had 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies (21-9, 16-1), who are 14-1 in their last 15 games.
Reggie Hamilton scored a game-high 28 points for Oakland, which shot 60.7 percent (37 of 61). Will Hudson had an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double, Travis Bader scored 15 points - all on 3-pointers - and Larry Wright chipped in with 15.
All five starters hit double figures for the Kangaroos (16-12, 9-8), who were outrebounded 39-24 but forced 14 turnovers while committing only five. Bakari Lewis, Reggie Chamberlain and Max Rockmann scored 20 apiece, Dustin Dibble had 14 and Spencer Johnson added 12.
UMKC led 26-25 after Lewis' jumper with 11:14 left in the first half. But Oakland ran off the next seven and never trailed again.
