Day 1 Results
VERONA, N.Y. - Sophomore Jakob Ziegler shot an even-par score of 144 and currently holds a three-shot lead to lead the Oakland University men's golf team on day one of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate at Kaluhyat Golf Course (Par 72, 7,100 yards) on Sunday. The Golden Grizzlies are currently in eighth place with a score of 621 (+45).
Ziegler, a native of Berlin, Germany, shot a 1-under-par score of 71 in his second 18 holes and finished with a 73 in the first round to finish day one at even-par. He leads Missouri's Jace Long and Purdue's Zhongyang Fu by three shots. Purdue leads the field of 18 with a first-day total of 593 (+17), 12 shots ahead of Bowling Green and 13 shots clear of tournament host Missouri.
Junior Michael Coriasso finished day one with an overall score of 156 (76-80) to end the afternoon in a tie for 34th place. The third and final round will be played tomorrow.
