Sarah Lynch Claims Summit League Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Sept. 20, 2010

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University's Sarah Lynch was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The junior midfielder from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada picks up her first weekly honor of the season and the second of her career.

Lynch came off the bench on Friday to add a late goal and assist in the Golden Grizzlies' 6-1 win over Youngstown State. She followed that performance up by scoring a crucial goal and assisting on the match-winning goal in OU's 3-2 win over Massachusetts on Sunday. The Golden Grizzlies were 2-0 for the week, and are unbeaten in their last three matches.

Lynch is tied for the team lead with four goals this year and is tied for second most in the Summit League. She also has a team-best 11 points, which is the second-highest total in the league.

The Golden Grizzlies will look to keep the momentum going in the next match against Butler on Friday at 4 p.m. Fans that are unable to attend the game can follow the live stats, which are available on OUGrizzlies.com
