ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University softball team (13-26, 5-7 Summit) will look to move up in The Summit League standings when they square off against South Dakota State University (14-27, 6-6 Summit) for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday, April 23-24 at the OU Softball Field.
Last time out, the Golden Grizzlies fell in an extra inning battle with Eastern Michigan on April 14, dropping a 5-3 decision after eight innings. After facing a 3-0 decifit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, sophomore Kylie Schalz smashed a triple to drive in three runs to force the extra play.
Meanwhile, the Jackrabbits picked up a series win against IUPUI last weekend, winning the doubleheader by scores of 6-4 and 9-5, but losing the finale 8-3.
First pitch on Friday is slated for a 1 p.m. start and can be followed via Gametracker at www.ougrizzlies.com

Friday, April 23
There will be a poster signing at the end of the second game of this doubleheader, as well as a meet and greet with the softball players. The team will also honor Jenna Kast, the cancer patient the Golden Grizzlies have adopted as part of their involvement with the Friends Of Jaclyn Foundation.
Saturday, April 24
Put on your pink to support the Golden Grizzlies and help raise breast cancer awareness, with proceeds going toward the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Organization. There will also be a charity barbeque and a gift and prize toss after the game.
