Oakland Head Coach Greg Kampe
Opening statement...
"When you play a long season, you have to win in different ways. And tonight we won - we made our free throws, obviously, and that was huge. It was a very brutal, physical game - that was to our advantage ... The free throws were key to us and then the biggest thing in the game was that we defended ... We talked at halftime how important it was to defend this half. If we're going to win a championship, we have to defend. So, I'm very pleased with the outcome."

On run late in the game...
"It was just a matter of time the way we defended in the second half, I never felt a worry. I felt a worry the last five minutes of the first half when we just completely stopped defending and that let them back in the game. I thought our defense was good for the first 15 minutes and then the second half. So when I saw the intensity and how we were playing in the second half and with the senior leadership I have, I was never concerned ... we ran up and down the floor, that's when we're at our best, that didn't work tonight. So we slowed down."

Derick Nelson
On defense...
"We didn't defend and they got back in the game and took the lead (in the first half). When we defended how we were supposed to, that was the difference in the game. That's what gave us the win in the second half."

On making it to the championship game...
"I'm happy to be in the championship. This is what I came back for. We haven't forgotten about how last year ended, and we're just ready for tomorrow."

IPFW Head Coach Dane Fife
Opening statement...
"I thought we fought hard. In the second half shots quit falling. Subsequently, we quit a little bit. We lost our focus on defense. It's a time for anger, frustration and sadness because we're losing two good kids coupled with a loss... We fought hard, I'm not angry. I'm proud of our guys. They worked hard and I feel like we did everything we could as a staff and as a squad to get this done we just didn't get it done."

On the best season in school history and the future...
"I always look back and say we should have done better, but I am happy for our guys. I know that (Ben) Botts, (Zach) Plackemeier and (Nick) Daniels can look back and say we got it done. I think that's what is important because it is so looked upon at this level. Those seniors can look back and say we were pretty dang good that year and they have a little pride to them."

Nick Daniels
Opening statement...
"When I came up to visit (IPFW) and talk to the coaches, they were getting better every year and moving in the right direction. They just wanted to get some players in there that were going to execute what he had envisioned for the program and I think they're doing a great job of that. It showed this year."
