WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -JaJuan Johnson had 25 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 14 Purdue finally pull away from pesky Oakland 82-67 Sunday night in the Chicago Invitational Challenge.

Johnson had 19 points and four rebounds in the first half. E'Twaun Moore scored 26 points, and the Boilermakers (3-0) extended their winning streak over non-conference foes to 21.

Oakland, the preseason Summit League favorite, was led by Keith Benson with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Reggie Hamilton added 16 points and a career-high tying nine assists, while Travis Bader and Will Hudson reached double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Golden Grizzlies (1-2) led for the first 10 minutes and had a chance to tie the score at 57 on a fastbreak with 13 1/2 minutes left to play. But Oakland missed the layup and Purdue scored off its own fastbreak, igniting a 13-2 run that gave Purdue control.

Oakland will travel to Wright State for a Tuesday night game that will tip at 7 p.m.
