Day 1 Results

HEBRON, Ky. - Sophomore transfer Phil Gieseker shot 2-under-par 70 and three other Oakland University players carded scores of 73 (+1) to lead the Golden Grizzlies to a tie for first-place standing with tournament host Cincinnati with an overall score of 289 (+1) at the Bearcat Invitational on Monday at Traditions Golf Club (Par 72, 7,103 yards). The second round was called due to darkness and the teams will complete that round before starting their final round on Tuesday.

Oakland and Cincy hold a two-shot lead over Ball State (291) and Northern Kentucky (291). Gieseker, a native of Saline, Mich., stands in fourth place. Senior Michael Marks, junior Michael Coriasso and sophomore Jakob Ziegler each shot 1-over-par scores of 73.

The Bearcats' Zack Bates carded a 7-under-par 65 to hold a three-shot cushion over Northern Illinois' Jeff Dick's 68 (-3).
