TOLEDO, Ohio - Despite a goal from sophomore Shannon Doyle, the Oakland University women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 exhibition decision to Toledo on Saturday.
"The whole team looked very tired today," said head coach Nick O'Shea. "We played very slowly. Toledo moved the ball very quickly, and really their speed of play was much better than ours. Our players did much better in the second half to match them, and we had a goal disallowed and scored one. We played much better after the half."
"One good thing was that everyone was able to play a lot of minutes," added O'Shea, "so we were able to get an extended look at everyone."
The Golden Grizzlies will take Sunday off and return to the practice field on Monday in preparation for the final scrimmage of the season, a 5 p.m. Friday contest against Grand Valley at the OU Soccer Field.
