KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior Frank McAuliffe finished off his first under par round of the spring season, shooting 2-under 70 in round two, and carded a season-low 3-under par score of 69 in the final round, to lead the Oakland University men's golf team to a seventh-place finish (310-294-298/902) at The Summit League Championship on the Par 72, 6,546-yard Oakwood Country Club golf course on Tuesday.
"I was proud of the way the guys finished off round two today," said OU coach
Brian Costello. "But we were unable to keep the momentum into the final round and that was disappointing. It was great to see Frank (McAuliffe) play to his abilities in those final two rounds, proving he can get it done under pressure."
McAuliffe, a native of Ann Arbor, Mich., finished the tournament in a tie for fourth place with an overall score of 215 (-1). He earns All-Summit League first team honors for the second straight year.
