PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Junior Frank McAuliffe shot a final round score of even par 72, after shooting one over 73 in round two, to finish in a tie for 12th place with an overall score of 225 (+9), to lead the Oakland University men's golf team to an eighth-place finish (308-300-304/912) at the Detroit Titans Invitational on Saturday at Fox Hills Golf Course (Par 72, 6783).
Loyola College captured the title with an overall score of 30-over par (894). Dayton finished second with a score of 901 (+37), while tournament host Detroit finished tied for third with Butler with total of 903 (+39).
Freshman Michael Coriasso fired an even-par 72 in round two, and finished with a 79 this afternoon, to tally a tie for 25th-place finish with a total score of 229 (+13). Sophomore Robby McNiff shot a pair of 76 scores over the final two rounds to finish in a tie for 30th place (230/+14) for the Golden Grizzlies.
Sophomore Travis Peitz posted his best score in round one, firing a two-over par score of 74. He finished with rounds of 81 and 79 for Oakland and in a tie for 38th place (234/+18), alongside sophomore teammate Vince Carango (78-79-77).
