Day 1 Results

JASPER, Ind. - Sophomore Robby McNiff finished in a tie for 27th place with two scores of 77 (+10), and junior Frank McAuliffe fired rounds of 78 and 79 (+13/157), respectively, to finish in a tie for 40th place, to lead the Oakland University men's golf team on day one of the BSU Cardinal Collegiate at the Par 72, 6862-yard Sultan's Run Golf Club on Saturday.

"It was a tough day today," said OU coach Brian Costello. "I thought we battled in round two after that difficult start and look for us to continue to improve in round three tomorrow."

The Golden Grizzlies are currently in 13th place with a 59-over par score of 635 (326-309). Tournament host Ball State leads the field with a 15-over par score of 591 (297-294).

Freshman Michael Coriasso improved eight shots in round two with a three-over par score of 75. He finished in a tie for 45th place with a total score of 158 (+14). Sophomore Travis Peitz responded with a 78 after being disqualified in round one for failing to sign his scorecard.

The third and final round is scheduled to go off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. Live results will be provided at www.golfstat.com.
