ROCHESTER, Mich. - Junior Keith Benson posted his league-leading sixth double-double with a game-high 23 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks, while junior Larry Wright had a season-high 18 points and senior Derick Nelson added 15 to lead the Oakland University men's basketball team (5-5) past Green Bay (9-3), 76-52, on Sunday afternoon inside the Athletics Center O'Rena. The Golden Grizzlies held the Phoenix to a season-low in points and just 34 percent (20-58) from the floor.

"Obviously, that's a very good basketball team we just beat," said OU coach Greg Kampe. "They came in 9-2 and there are only a few teams in the country that have nine wins. I thought they were missing a good player, but that's part of the game. I thought defensively, that's the team I envisioned."

Senior Johnathon Jones was the final OU player to reach double figures with 11 points and four assists. The Golden Grizzlies finished the game at 50 percent (27-54) from the floor and 39 percent from long range (5-13).

The first half was closely contested as the score was tied five times and there were eight lead changes. The final one came to Oakland as Jones buried a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left in the first half to give the Golden Grizzlies a three-point advantage at the break, 32-29.

OU seized control of the game early in the second half with a 15-2 run over the first eight minutes to push the lead all the way up to 20 points, 53-33, with 11:55 remaining in the game. That lead grew up to 26 points with just over five minutes left in the game as OU cruised to victory.

Oakland is now 17-1 in its last 18 games inside the O'Rena.

The Golden Grizzlies will make a west coast swing at Seattle University on Thursday night, Dec. 17, and will take on Oregon on Saturday, Dec. 19.
