Oakland Closes Out the Regular Season on the Road

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University women's soccer team (7-7-1, 4-2-1 Summit) will close out the regular season on the road this upcoming weekend. The Golden Grizzlies will play IUPUI (13-4, 5-2 Summit) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. and Western Illinois on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2:00 p.m.

The Golden Grizzlies are led by sophomore midfielder Deanna Colarossi with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Coley has not allowed a goal over the last 368 minutes. She has posted four shutouts with two goals allowed in the last five games.

Oakland is one of five teams battling for the final two spots in The Summit League Tournament. North Dakota State and South Dakota State have clinched spots while the Golden Grizzlies are currently in fourth with 13 points. The Jaguars of IUPUI are third with 15 points. The other contenders are Western Illinois (10 points) and IPFW and Oral Roberts with nine points each.

IUPUI is coming off a 3-1 win over Centenary on Oct. 25. Megan Hock is the second leading scorer in the Summit with 22 points. She has nine goals and four assists. Jamie Farrell is 12-4 with six shutouts and a 0.89 G.A.A.

Western Illinois is coming off a 1-0 overtime win over Oral Roberts on Oct. 25. Alison Smith leads the Leathernecks with four goals for eight points.
