Oakland

  • Junior Johnathon Jones scored his 1,000th point tonight, marking the third current Golden Grizzly to have hit the landmark (Derick Nelson and Erik Kangas have already hit the mark.)
  • This is the second time Kangas had buried a 3-pointer to defeat NDSU. It also happend last season when OU beat the Bison 77-74 in the O'Rena.
  • Oakland has beat NDSU three straight times at the buzzer and is now 4-0 all-time against the Bison.
  • Keith Benson has hit double figures in five straight games.
  • This is the first game Oakland has won this year without Kangas being in double figures.
  • Kangas went out with an injury with about three minutes to go in the first half and only played 11 minutes in the second half. His game-winning trey was his first 3-pointer of the contest. In addition, this is the third time this year Kangas has nailed a three-point shot in the final minute.
  • Oakland is now 5-0 in the O'Rena and 6-0 when the team shoots 40 percent or better from the three-point arch.

NDSU

  • Brett Winkleman's 33 points is a season-high for the senior.
  • Senior guard Ben Woodside, who was picked as the league's preseason player of the year, was held scoreless by Jones in the first half and eight of his 14 second half points came from the free throw line.
  • NDSU is now 0-4 all-time against Oakland.
