ROCHESTER, Mich. ???C Despite an 11-save effort by freshman goalkeeper Shannon Coley, the Oakland University women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to the Central Michigan University Chippewas on Sunday at the OU Soccer Field. CMU's Stephanie Martin took a cross pass in front of the net in the 28th minute, tallying her second goal of the season and providing all the offense Central Michigan would need. The Chippewas held a 20-7 advantage on shots attempted, including a 12-4 advantage in the second half. The Golden Grizzlies had three attempts on net, coming in the fourth minute, and then in the 46th and 51st minutes, but the Golden Grizzlies were unable to break through and knot the game. The Golden Grizzlies will return to action Friday, Sept. 5 facing Cornell on the first day of the St. Bonaventure tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. -30-
