FARGO, N.D. - Senior Lauren Duquette turned in a 14-dig performance, Junior Adrienne Leone added seven kills, and sophomore Katy Wilson dished out nine assists, but the Oakland University volleyball team (6-21, 3-11 Summit) was unable to overcome a ferocious offensive effort from the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday night.
"Tonight was NDSU's night," said head coach Rob Beam. "They put forward the best performance we have seen this year."
The Bison rolled to 25-12, 25-16, and 25-10 wins to complete the sweep. NDSU turned in nine service aces, while holding a .290 to .000 hitting advantage for the match.
"(Duquette) was amazing for us tonight," added Beam. "She passed accurately and made numerous spectacular defensive plays. Her performance was even acknowledged by the Bison fans during and after the match."
Ranking second in kills for the Golden Grizzlies on the night was senior Stephanie Parkin with four. Parkin added seven digs, and one block assist. Freshman Jenna Lange tallied three kills on nine swings, also adding one block assist.
The Golden Grizzlies will return to action on Friday, Nov. 14, facing Western Illinois at the Athletics Center O'Rena. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
