Hopkinsville, Ky. - Sophomore Robby McNiff shot a one-over par 73, while junior Frank McAuliffe and sophomore Vince Carango each carded two-over par scores of 74, to lead the Oakland University men's golf team to a 13th-place finish on Tuesday at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on the The Links at Novadell Golf Course (Par 72, 6,841 yards). McAuliffe finished in a tie for 36th place to lead the Golden Grizzlies individually.
Sophomore Michael Marks turned in the final score that would count for Oakland with a three-over par score of 75. Fellow sophomore Travis Peitz shot a final round 78 (+6).
The Golden Grizzlies finished with a 30-over par score total of 894, tying Summit League foe IPFW. Austin Peay State University won its own tournament with a score of 34-under par (832), nine shots clear of Missouri's 841 (-23).
