Centenary (11-20, 2-7 Mid-Con) came back to take seven of the next eight points to take a 15-12 lead after an OU hitting error. The Ladies increased their lead to 27-17, but Oakland came back with seven consecutive points, three on Stephanie Parkin (Clarkston, Mich.) aces, to pull to within three. Centenary eventually cut the Golden Grizzly lead to three points at 20-17, but a Pawson kill and consecutive aces from Beattie had OU back up by five at 23-18. Centenary could get no closer than four the rest of the way and a Pawson kill at the end gave OU its first game. Trailing by four in the fourth game, Oakland rallied, getting three kills from Frechen as part of a 9-1 run to take a 19-15 lead.
