Silje Peltopera (Karasjok, Norway) was brought down just outside the penalty area. Woods stepped up to take the free kick and bent the ball perfectly passed the Golden Eagle wall and goalkeeper Kellie Fenton to put the game at one-apiece. Just over ten minutes later Woods would give the ball to junior

Erica Demers (Welland, Ont.) battled for the ball in the top third of ORU???s end of the field with Woods coming out with the ball and feeding a pass to Piccirillo. Piccirillo shot the ball while turning and bent it to the back right corner of the Golden Eagles net to take the 2-1 lead. With 16 minutes left in the game the official made a controversial call that left Oakland short of another goal. Freshman
Marianne Samdal (Tiller, Norway) crossed the ball on top of the six-yard line where Piccirillo slid to connect and put the ball off the crossbar and what appeared to be in ORU???s net, hitting the mesh. However, none of the officials made a call and Fenton was able to keep the ball alive and out of the net. Oakland was not discouraged by the call and with less than three minutes left in the game,
Kristi Swaving (Albuquerque, New Mexico) showed her fancy footwork and finishing skills against Fenton and an ORU defender to put the game at 3-1. After an Oral Roberts corner kick and scramble, Oakland came back with a quick counterattack. Woods took a long ball on the bounce and knocked it up to Swaving who had a one-on-one opportunity. Swaving first outran her defender and then took her on inside the 18-yd. box. Swaving used her footwork skills to first beat the defender and then used her shooting skills to beat Fenton to the near right post for the insurance goal.
