Jacke Healey was named co-head coach for the Oakland Baseball program in July of 2016 after joining the Oakland baseball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2013, where he worked primarily with the hitters and the infielders.
During his first season in 2017, Healey helped guide Oakland to a 11-19 record in Horizon League play during the regular season. The Golden Grizzlies went on to make history by winning its first-ever Horizon League Tournament games posting a 2-2 record marking the second time in the Division I era Oakland has won multiple conference tournament games since 2000 as members of the Summit League.
During his tenure as co-head coach over three seasons (2017, 2018, 2019), 13 student-athletes have earned Horizon League All-Academic Team honors along with two All-Horizon League First Team, four Second Team and four All-Freshman Team selections. Additionally,Â

In 2016, Healey helped both Mike Brosseau and Ian Yetsko earn their second All-Horizon League honors, while Ben Hart earned his first all-league selection. Under his tutelage the Oakland offense had its best power numbers in five years as the team totaled 25 home runs.
In his first season in 2013, Healey helped raise the offense's batting average over 30 points. He also coached Robby Enslen to Oakland's first All-Region selection since 2000 after hitting .378 with 38 RBIs. Healey has coached seven All-Horizon League selections in his first two seasons.
Healey spent one year at the University of Pitt where he was the infield coach and also worked with the offense. In 2013, Healey helped the Panthers win a school-record 42 games. The Pitt offense was one of the finest in the nation during the 2013 campaign as Pitt finished the year ranked seventh in scoring (7.5), fifth in runs (444), 18th in home runs per game (0.83) and home runs (49), 19th in slugging percentage (.448) and 14th in on-base percentage (.403).
Prior to Pitt, he was a standout at Youngstown State, which led to him being drafted by the Houston Astros in the 27th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. In two seasons with the Tri-City ValleyCats, he hit eight home runs, three triples and 11 doubles, and helped guide the team to the 2011 league championship.
In two years at Youngstown State, Healey established himself as one of the program's all-time great infielders. He earned first team all-conference recognition at shortstop twice, becoming the first player in program history to accomplish that feat. He currently holds the Penguins' single-season records for home runs (12), RBI (59) and runs scored (63).
Prior to playing at Youngstown State, Healey played two seasons at Potomac State College of West Virginia and was a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American selection as a sophomore after hitting .456 with 67 hits, 15 doubles and 11 home runs. He was also one of nine players in the country to be named a Rawlings Big Stick Award winner and also garnered Region XX Player of the Year honors. Due to these accomplishments, Healey one of two new members inducted into the Potomac State College Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
Healey graduated from Youngstown State in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in general studies/history.
