Tammara Kane serves as the Coordinator of Athletics Special Events for Oakland University, where she oversees the planning and execution of special events and basketball club suites that enhance the student-athlete, donor, alumni, and fan experience.
Kane brings nearly two decades of event planning and management experience to the department. As the owner and event coordinator of Grand Jour Events since 2007, she has managed events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions, overseeing logistics, vendor relations, budgeting, scheduling, marketing, and event design. Throughout her career, she has coordinated event budgets exceeding $150,000 while building lasting relationships with clients, community partners, and vendors.
In addition to her extensive event management background, Kane has experience in social media management, photography, website maintenance, and volunteer coordination. Her ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality experiences has earned her multiple industry recognitions, including several The Knot Best of Weddings awards and WeddingWire Brides Choice Awards.
Kane has also remained actively involved in her community, serving as president and event coordinator for the Walled Lake United Wrestling Booster Club, where she organizes team events, banquets, and volunteer efforts for student-athletes and their families.
A graduate of Lansing Community College, Kane earned an Associate degree in Business Administration and a Wedding Consultant Certificate. She resides in Commerce Township with her husband and four sons.
