Hunter Pidek, a Troy, Michigan native and Oakland University alumnus, joins the Golden Grizzlies as the Director of Player Development and Analytics. A standout pitcher for Oakland’s baseball program, Hunter served as the team’s Friday starter for three seasons after a year pitching out of the bullpen and was named Team Captain in his senior season. His remarkable career left a true mark on the program, as he ranks fifth all-time in strikeouts (194), third all-time in innings pitched (260.2), and holds the all-time record for the most starts in a single season (15), achieving this feat in both 2024 and 2025. Pidek received the prestigious Champions Club Future Leader Award at the 2025 Oakland University Black and Gold Awards.

Certified in Driveline, OnBaseU, and ProPitchAi, Pidek brings a wealth of expertise to player development. His proficiency in TrackMan Baseball, Microsoft Excel, and advanced coding models allows him to generate detailed hitting and pitching reports that provide actionable insights for player feedback and growth. Hunter’s approach combines cutting-edge analytics with on-field performance and a focus on player character, ensuring a holistic strategy to help Golden Grizzlies reach their full potential.

Pidek graduated from Oakland with a degree in Human Resource Development in 2025.
