2018 marks the first season for Thomaz Freitas as the Graduate Assistant for the Oakland men’s soccer program.

Freitas will handle day-to-day responsibilities including: video and performance analysis, coordination of team and staff travel, social media/marketing coordination, NCAA compliance tracking and monitoring, recruiting and admissions visit coordination, camp coordination and marketing, team communications, recruiting database management, equipment and inventory budgeting/tracking/order placement.

Prior to Oakland, Freitas spent two years at Notre Dame College where he was named team captain seeing action in 37 games helping the team to 23 wins with three goals and three assists while serving on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2015-17. After his playing stent, Freitas remained with the Falcons as an assistant coach helping run training session and game day operations.

Freitas also spent two years at Mars Hill University from 2013-15 playing in 36 games scoring five goals with four assists leading the Lions to 16 wins and two-time runner-up finish in the South Atlantic Conference.

Freitas, earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame College in 2017 and will be pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at Oakland.
