FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

Oakland University Athletics staff supports, encourages, and enforces a safe and fun environment and experience for those attending or participating in OU Athletic events. The following expectations have been established regarding behavior and fan conduct: 
 
  • Guests should conduct themselves in a manner that positively represents their university, their conference, and the NCAA. Guests shall not exhibit behavior that interferes with the enjoyment of the game or event by those around them. 
  • Guests should positively cheer for their team and refrain from taunting, threatening, foul, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, obscene, or abusive language, gestures, or actions directed toward coaches, student-athletes, fans, staff, and game officials. 
  • Guests appearing intoxicated, inebriated, or showing other signs of impairment related to alcohol or drug use may be denied entry and may be subject to ejection. 
  • Guests are prohibited from smoking, including the use of electronic smoking devices (vaping), hookahs, and marijuana, on University property and in University buildings. 
  • Guests should wear clothing without obscene or indecent messages. 
  • Guests should follow the direction and instruction of OU Athletics personnel. 
Examples of prohibited behavior include, but are not limited to: throwing objects of any kind; fighting; demonstrating unruly behavior; interfering with the progress of an event; entering or attempting to enter the field of play; destroying OU's, OU Athletics', or another's property; engaging in behavior that endangers the safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials, or other guests; and/or taunting of event staff, visiting teams, and/or public safety officials. 
 
Those who do not abide by the fan code of conduct may be subject to event expulsion without refund. Ticket holders are responsible for their own conduct and the conduct of their guests or persons occupying their seats.
