Oakland University Athletics hosted the third annual Black and Gold Awards Tuesday, April 18, at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. The Black and Gold Awards serve as a celebration for Oakland's 320 student-athletes to honor their accomplishments in competition, the classroom and in the community.

Some of this year's presenters included Detroit Red Wings analyst and former professional hockey player Mickey Redmond, The Detroit News Tony Paul, Detroit Pistons Vice President of Public Relations Kevin Grigg, Olympia Entertainment President Tom Wilson, Fox 2 sports Woody Woodriffe, WXYZ-TV Brad Galli and Justin Rose, and WDIV-TV Jamie Edmonds.

For the first time, the Black and Gold Awards was televised on TV20.
