Award:
2009 George Wibby Award

A longtime member of the Oakland University community, Vic Zambardi has devoted countless hours of his time to the athletics department. In his position as Vice President for Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Vic has played a vital role in the development of the OU athletics department.

One of his most vital roles in the development of the athletics department at Oakland was when he served as the chairman of Oakland University's NCAA Self Study Certification Steering Committee. The involvement with Oakland athletics is a natural for Zambardi, who played four years of football, two years of baseball, and one year of track at Notre Dame High School, as well as four years of football at Kalamazoo College.

Zambardi is a fixture at several sporting events. In addition to being an avid Golden Grizzlies fan and season ticketholder, Zambardi also holds season tickets for the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions, and a partial season ticket package for the Detroit Tigers. He also annually attends the Indianapolis 500, NASCAR events at Michigan International Speedway, and the Buick Open.

A 1978 graduate of Kalamazoo College, Zambardi received his law degree from Wayne State in 1982.
