Dave Krueger and George Wibby

Dave Krueger may represent the perfect definition of a key behind the scenes player. The Pontiac native is a graduate of Oakland University and is devoted to his alma mater and its athletics program.

If you've ever been to an OU volleyball game, you know him as "Mr. P.A." and he has even been known to sing the national anthem. If you travel with OU volleyball, he's the driver, statistician, laundry man, etc.

If you attended men's OU basketball games in the late 80's, you saw him there assisting head coach Greg Kampe as a student manager. If you attend current basketball contests, you may see him behind the ticket counter or as a troubleshooter when a problem occurs with the scoreboard or shot clock.

On Sundays and Mondays, you may see Krueger assisting equipment manager Tom Zelinski and the ironic part is that those two days are his only days off from his position at Meadow Brook Hall.

Dave Krueger has a love for Oakland University, its athletics programs, the athletes and all surrounding the university.

In special recognition of his long friendship and support of Oakland University and the university's athletics programs, the Intercollegiate Athletic Department proudly presents David Krueger with the George Wibby Award.
