Emil Robert (Bob) Knoska has been a member of the Oakland University family for 24 years. His official position on campus is that of a custodian for the Campus and Facilities Operations. Fortunately for the athletics department he is probably best known as a photographer for the Golden Grizzlies.

Knoska's love for photography began while he was an English major at OU and it was then that he began shooting each and every sport at Oakland.

Knoska logs more than 100 hours each year taking photographs at OU's ahtletics events. Approximately 80 percent of the photography that appears in the Golden Grizzlies media guides and other publications has been taken by Knoska. The amazing thing about this dedication is that everything Knoska does for OU athletics, he does on a volunteer basis. Knoska is a fixture in the world of Golden Grizzlies athletics and for that he is affectionately known as Turtle and Dusty (Lenscap).

Due to Knoska's dedication to his alma mater and it's athletics programs, he saves the sports information department thousands of dollars each year. Without this service, OU would be without its vast library of photographs.

In addition to working at OU, Knoska freelances for area newspapers as a sports photographer. He also works at the Detroit Grand Prix, 24-hour Daytona and Waterford Hills as a corner worker (flags and fire extinguishers). An avid fisherman, he is a devoted Detroit Red Wings and Golden Grizzlies fan.

Knoska graduated from Oakland University with a degree in English in 1974. Knoska and his wife Karen reside in Romeo.
