Simon Dover has 13 years of experience at Oakland University and was promoted to Senior Associate Director of Athletics in September 2011. Dover joined the athletics staff as the business manager in 1998 and elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Finance and Business Administration in 2000.
In his new position, Dover will serve as the No. 2 person in the department and be in charge of day-to-day operations. He will continue to be responsible for implementing strategic planning initiatives, contract negotiations and managing the multi-million dollar athletic budget.
During his time at OU, Dover served as a sport administrator for baseball, men's and women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, and the men's and women's track and field teams. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for External Operations prior to becoming Senior Associate AD and oversaw athletic communications, marketing and promotions, sports medicine and business operations.
A native of Rochester, Mich., Dover came to OU in 1998 from the Palace Sports and Entertainment, Inc. where he worked from 1991-98. Prior to PS&E, Dover worked in public accounting from 1988-91.
A 1988 graduate of Oakland with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Dover received his master's degree in finance in 1998 from Walsh College. He is a member of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the College Athletic Business Managers Association. Dover resides in Rochester with his wife Janice and their two children, Harrison and Haley.
