Dr. Daniel Bielak has been a fixture around the Lepley
Sports Center since 1988 when he was appointed OU's team physician. He has attended a
majority of the men's and women's basketball games and men's and

Bielak, a Clarkston resident since 1978, founded the
Clarkston Family and Sports Medicine Clinic in North Oakland County. The CF&SMC
was the first facility established for the specific care of athletes in Oakland County.
He was recently named "Fellow" of the American
Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine and was one of the first 80 in the country to
receive this award. Bielak is a founding member of the American Osteopathic Academy of
Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. He is a former member
of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
In addition to his service to OU, Bielak created an
athletic training visitation program to area high schools for injury prevention,
evaluation and coach's evaluation 15 years ago.
Bielak received his bachelor of arts degree from Wayne
State University in 1968 and graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in
1973.
He and his wife Carolyn reside in Clarkston. The couple
have three college students of their own- Nicholas (23), Gabrielle (21) and Michael (18).
In recognition of his long friendship and support of
Oakland University and the university's athletic programs, the Intercollegiate
