- Stepping into a larger than expected role following the early-season injury to redshirt senior Finn Jurak, Sly played in 17 matches, starting the final 16
- A Horizon League All-Freshman Team selection and two-time Nike Defensive Player of the Week on September 12 and October 31, he led the conference in saves-per-match (5.76) and was third in save percentage (.784)
- Posted five shutouts, including one against the Big Ten Conference's (B1G) Michigan Wolverines on September 19 and two in consecutive Horizon League matches against the Green Bay Phoenix on October 12 and Wright State Raiders on October 15
