GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Golden Grizzlies lost to Green Bay 1-0 on Sunday. Despite holding the Phoenix to just one shot on goal, Oakland wasn't able to scratch the scoreboard.
The Oakland Golden Grizzlies spent much of the match defending, with the Phoenix finishing with 15 shots. Oakland kept the Phoenix from scoring during two separate attacking stretches, including one with six shots and four corner kicks and another with three shots and one corner, but the full-match shot totals showed limited attacking production from the visiting side.
Oakland kept the Phoenix off the board through a first-half pressure spell, facing six shots and four corner kicks from 23:39 to 35:04 while the score remained 0-0. The half ended without a goal and was at a scoreless stalemate.
The Phoenix moved in front at 68:31 on Laney Stark's goal, leaving Oakland chasing a 1-0 score in the second half. The Oakland Golden Grizzlies kept the deficit at one through the Phoenix's late pressure, including a corner kick and two shots in the final eight minutes. The match finished 1-0.
