Notre Dame took an early lead in the first inning after a double and later scored on an RBI single through the left side.
Scoreless until the fourth inning, Notre Dame's extended their lead with a solo home run to left field, concluding the score at 2-0 in favor of the home team.
Oakland had a brief opportunity in the fifth inning when grad senior Carter Hain reached on a fielding error and sophomore Aidan Schuck successfully bunted for a single, advancing Hain to second.
