YPSILANTI, Mich. – After three days of competition at Eastern Michigan University's Jones Natatorium, the Oakland University diving team has concluded its 2025-26 season.
The Golden Grizzlies sent seniors Victoria Sanders and Liam James, along with sophomore Elizabeth Woollcott, all of whom qualified during the regular season. James and Woollcott each competed in one event — the three-meter and one-meter, respectively — while Sanders competed in both springboard events.
All three athletes were on the boards on day one, starting with the women's one-meter. Sanders, in her fourth Zones appearance, totaled 227.15 points to finish 32nd. Woollcott, making her Zones debut in her second season with the Black and Gold, finished just behind in 35th with 224.35 points. Later, James competed in his first Zones in his final year at Oakland, scoring 208.20 points on the men's three-meter.
Day two featured the women's three-meter, where Sanders closed out the season for the team. Posting a score similar to her one-meter, she earned 227.95 points and a 36th-place finish.
In a highly competitive diving zone, each athlete capped off the season with a strong performance and the opportunity to compete less than an hour from their home natatorium for the final time. Their invitations to Zones showcased why they are part of Oakland University's successful and historic swimming and diving program.
