ROCHESTER, Mich. – After nearly a month away from competition, the Oakland University men's golf team returns to action in the first of three March tournaments at the Golden Nugget Invitational, hosted by Lamar University.

The 54-hole event will be played Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3, at The Country Club at The Golden Nugget (par 72, 7,000 yards). A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. (CT) both days, with 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

Eleven teams will compete in the invitational: Lamar, Abilene Christian, Houston, Louisiana Monroe, Northern Colorado, Oakland, South Carolina Upstate, Tarleton State, Troy, UTSA, and Wichita State.

Oakland's lineup for the Golden Nugget features freshman Rakshit Dahiya, senior Luke Kelly, sophomore Brennan Sullivan, and juniors Matteo Rocco and Jack Zubkus. Dahiya makes his first appearance in the lineup since the Badger Invitational in late September, where he tied for seventh with a four-under 212.

Competing as individuals for the Golden Grizzlies are junior Robert Burns and senior Ellis Kinnaird.

In their last event, the Golden Grizzlies tied for 10th at the Bentwater Intercollegiate. Sullivan led the team, placing 37th with a 54-hole total of 223 (+10). As a team, Oakland posted the second-best average score on par-3 holes and tied for fourth in total pars made.

The team will tee off on holes 16 through 18, grouped with individual golfers from various schools. Kinnaird will begin on hole five with individuals from UTSA and Abilene Christian, while Burns will start on hole 11 with individuals from Lamar and Northern Colorado.
