INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced their weekly player awards on Monday, naming Oakland pitcher
Kenna Bommarito as the #HLSB Pitcher of the Week.
Bommarito earned the nod after her second straight complete game shutout effort to start the season, blanking Michigan Dearborn (2/13) as she tossed a career-high 11 strikeouts in seven innings of work, allowing just five hits.
In two starts on the season, the sophomore has pitched 17.2 innings and holds a .40 ERA, top 25 in the nation. Her 24 strikeouts are the most in the conference by a wide margin as she has picked up right where she left off last season.
Oakland's ace leads the Golden Grizzlies towards their second straight home series as they welcome Lourdes for a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 20.
