ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies fell to Youngstown State University 72-60. Oakland's 30 points in the paint were not enough to overcome the Penguins' advantage in free throws, where they converted 15 of 21 attempts.
The first quarter began with Oakland capitalizing on turnovers, converting them into points through fast breaks and assists.
Makenzie Luehring and
Layla Gold led the charge with key 3-pointers, while
Angie Smith and
Filippa Goula contributed with assists and defensive rebounds. Oakland's defense forced five turnovers, limiting the Penguins' opportunities.
